# Could not connect to Workstatus server

# Could not connect to Workstatus server

That usually happens when the security (SSL) certificates on your computer are outdated or there’s some sort of internet connectivity issue.

### Could you please perform the following:

1. Turn off the modem/ router (Internet) for 10 minutes then start, try to connect.
2. Very Important: Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Please ensure you update this via Windows Update. **(Specifically, certificate chain updates/root certificate bundle).**
3. Check that the Local Security Authority Process is running, or restart it. You can find this in the Task Manager if you’re on Windows.
4. Disable any **firewalls/antivirus temporarily**
5. Close Workstatus
6. Restart computer
7. Start Workstatus

**Note:** Workstatus doesn’t support internet connections that are run through proxy or VPN.

If these steps do not solve the issue and the problem persists, please email us at **hello@workstatus.io** and we will be glad to help.
