# Couldn't connect to Workstatus server

# Couldn't connect to Workstatus server

That usually happens when the security (SSL) certificates on your computer are outdated or there’s some sort of internet connectivity issue.

Could you please perform the following:
1. Turn off the modem/ router (Internet) for 10 minutes then start, try to connect.
2. Very Important: Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Please ensure you update this via Windows Update. **(Specifically, certificate chain updates/root certificate bundle).**
3. Check that the Local Security Authority Process is running, or restart it. You can find this in the Task Manager if you’re on Windows.
4. Disable any **firewalls/antivirus temporarily**
5. Close Workstatus
6. Restart computer
7. Start Workstatus

Note: Workstatus doesn’t support internet connections that are run through proxy or VPN.

If these steps do not solve the issue and the problem persists, please email us at **hello@workstatus.io** and we will be glad to help
