Workstatus provides a Payroll feature that helps businesses manage employee compensation with accuracy and ease. Payroll is the process of calculating and distributing employee salaries or wages. It is widely used to ensure employees are paid correctly based on the actual work they have performed and any additional expenses they have claimed.

In Workstatus, payroll is automatically calculated using employee's timesheets (logged working hours) and submitted expenses, ensuring complete transparency and eliminating manual errors.


To process payroll, Workstatus offers two methods:


1- Manual – Employers can calculate timesheets and expenses manually and record payments, providing flexibility for custom payment methods or offline settlements.


2- Stripe – A secure and popular online payment gateway integrated within Workstatus. Using Stripe, organizations can make direct digital transfers to employees, manage international payments, and ensure fast, reliable payouts.

This feature streamlines payroll management, reduces administrative effort, and ensures smooth and timely employee payments.


Steps to follow for a successful payroll run:


Step 1: Update Payroll Settings: Before running payroll, configure payroll preferences in Workstatus. This includes selecting the day of payroll execution, payment frequency, transfer method, and other relevant settings. These configurations ensure that payroll runs align with your organization’s payment policies.

Step 2: Run Payroll Manually: If you prefer to handle payments outside of Stripe, you can run payroll manually. The system will generate the payable amounts based on employees’ timesheets and expenses. Employers can then record payment status (paid/unpaid) and manage payouts using their chosen offline or custom methods.

Step 3: Update Stripe Integration Settings (if required): For organizations using Stripe, it’s important to integrate and configure your Stripe account in Workstatus. This setup ensures a secure connection between your Workstatus workspace and Stripe. You’ll need to provide valid API keys and account details to enable seamless payment processing.

Step 4: Run Payroll Using Stripe: Once the integration is complete, you can run payroll directly through Stripe. Workstatus will calculate the payable amount for each employee, and with a single action, the payments will be processed securely through Stripe. This method is faster, more reliable, and especially beneficial for distributed teams requiring international transfers.
