Key Features of a Gantt View:
1.Timeline Representation:
The timeline is typically placed at the top of the chart, representing days, weeks, or months, depending on the length of the project.
Tasks are aligned against the timeline, showing when they start, how long they will take, and when they are due to finish.
2.Tasks and Groups:
Each task in the Gantt view is shown as a bar across the timeline. The length of the bar represents the task's duration (1).
Tasks are often organized into groups or phases, helping to break down complex projects into manageable parts. Group also shows numbers of task in group(2) and Task Estimation time(3).
3.Current Date Indicator:
A vertical line or highlight usually indicates the current date(4), helping users see what stage the project is at and which tasks should be in progress.
4. New Member add in Task
You can add a new member to a task by following these steps: simply click on the "Member" field(5), a dropdown will open, and then select the desired member to add them to the task(6).
How can we change Task Start and End Date.
To change the task's start and end date in the Gantt view, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Task Bar: In the Gantt chart, locate the task you want to modify and click on its horizontal bar.
2. Drag to Adjust Dates: Drag the task bar to the left or right to adjust the start(1) and end date (2) directly on the timeline.
3. You can change both the start and end dates of a task at the same time by dragging and dropping the entire timeline bar. Simply click on the task bar in the Gantt view and move it along the timeline to adjust the dates simultaneously.
Different type of view of Gantt view
1. Status View:
Description: This view groups tasks based on their current status in the project workflow. Examples of statuses include "In Progress," "Completed," "Yet to Start," "Ready for Test," etc.
Purpose: It helps project managers and team members track the progress of tasks at a glance. This view is useful for understanding how many tasks are in each phase and for ensuring that tasks move smoothly through the stages.
Usage Scenario: If you want to see how many tasks are currently in the testing phase or awaiting deployment, you would use the "Status" view to check how the tasks are distributed across different statuses.
2. Member View:
Description: In this view, tasks are grouped by the team member assigned to them. Each member’s tasks appear on a separate row, allowing you to see who is responsible for what and their associated timelines.
Purpose: This view is ideal for resource management. It helps track individual workloads, ensuring no one is overloaded with tasks, and makes it easy to adjust task assignments if needed.
Usage Scenario: If you need to review which tasks are assigned to a particular team member or monitor the workload of various team members, the "Member" view allows you to manage task distribution efficiently.
3. Task Group View:
Description: In this view, tasks are listed in group and group shows the total estimated hours of all task which is under group
Purpose:Tasks are often organized into groups or phases, helping to break down complex projects into manageable parts. Group also shows numbers of task in group and Task Estimation time. Track task progress by grouping tasks into categories (such as Default Group, group 1, etc.). Monitor deadlines by observing when tasks start and end. Assign tasks to team members, seen by avatars in each group. Identify task dependencies and overlaps visually. Plan and allocate resources effectively by grouping tasks and viewing timelines for project completion. This view is highly useful in project management to ensure tasks are on track and deadlines are met.
