How to Install the Visible Mac Desktop App

Mac Visible App Installation – Support Document


1. Purpose


This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Workstatus Visible App on macOS, including the required macOS permissions for successful tracking.


2. Prerequisites

  • A supported Mac system.
  • Workstatus Visible App .dmg installation file.
  • User login credentials.
  • Administrator permission on the Mac may be required to add certain privacy permissions.
  • Ensure the user knows their macOS account/system name.


3. Download Workstatus App

  • Download the Workstatus Visible App : Download Mac Visible App
  • Once the download is completed, locate the downloaded .dmg file.


4. Install Workstatus App

  • Double-click the downloaded Workstatus .dmg file.
  • The installation window will open.
  • Drag and drop the Workstatus application into the Applications folder.
  • Open Finder → Applications.
  • Locate and open the Workstatus application.


5. Login to Workstatus

  • Launch the Workstatus application.
  • Enter your Workstatus account credentials.
  • Complete the login process.
  • After successful login, Workstatus will display information about the permissions required by the application.
  • Follow the permission instructions before starting tracking.


6. Configure macOS Permissions

Open:System Settings → Privacy & Security
The following permissions must be configured for Workstatus.
Important: For each permission below, add both:

  • Workstatus from the Applications folder.
  • Workstatus from the Workstatus Application Support folder.


6.1 Full Disk Access
  • Open System Settings.
  • Go to Privacy & Security.
  • Select Full Disk Access.
  • Click the + icon.
  • Add Workstatus from the Applications folder.
  • Click the + icon again.
  • Press Command + Shift + G.
  • Enter the following path:/Users/SystemName/Library/Application Support/Workstatus
  • Replace SystemName with the actual macOS username.
  • Select Workstatus and click Open/Add.
  • Ensure the Workstatus entries are enabled.


6.2 Accessibility
  • Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  • Click the + icon.
  • Add Workstatus from the Applications folder.
  • Click the + icon again.
  • Press Command + Shift + G.
  • Enter the following path:/Users/SystemName/Library/Application Support/Workstatus
  • Replace SystemName with the actual macOS username.
  • Select Workstatus and click Open/Add.
  • Ensure the Workstatus entries are enabled.


6.3 Input Monitoring
  • Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring.
  • Click the + icon.
  • Add Workstatus from the Applications folder.
  • Click the + icon again.
  • Press Command + Shift + G.
  • Enter the following path:/Users/SystemName/Library/Application Support/Workstatus
  • Replace SystemName with the actual macOS username.
  • Select Workstatus and click Open/Add.
  • Ensure the Workstatus entries are enabled.


6.4 Screen & System Audio Recording
  • Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.
  • Click the + icon.
  • Add Workstatus from the Applications folder.
  • Click the + icon again.
  • Press Command + Shift + G.
  • Enter the following path:/Users/SystemName/Library/Application Support/Workstatus
  • Replace SystemName with the actual macOS username.
  • Select Workstatus and click Open/Add.
  • Ensure the Workstatus entries are enabled.


7. Permission Verification Checklist

Before starting Workstatus tracking, verify the following:

  • Workstatus is installed in the Applications folder.
  • Workstatus login is completed successfully.
  • Workstatus is added under Full Disk Access.
  • Workstatus is added under Accessibility.
  • Workstatus is added under Input Monitoring.
  • Workstatus is added under Screen & System Audio Recording.
  • Workstatus from the Application Support folder is also added where required.
  • All required Workstatus permission entries are enabled.
  • Restart Workstatus after completing the permissions configuration.


8. Start Workstatus

  • Close and reopen the Workstatus application after granting all permissions.
  • Confirm that the user is logged in.
  • Start tracking.
  • Verify that Workstatus changes to the expected Tracking status.
  • Confirm that screenshots, application/URL activity, keyboard/mouse activity, and other enabled tracking features are working as expected.

9. Important Notes

  • The path /Users/SystemName/Library/Application Support/Workstatus is an example. Replace SystemName with the actual macOS username.
  • The Library folder may be hidden in Finder. Using Command + Shift + G is recommended to directly access the required path.
  • macOS may request confirmation when enabling privacy permissions.
  • If Workstatus does not work correctly after permissions are granted, completely close and reopen the application.
  • If required, restart the Mac after completing all privacy permission changes.
